Interest in Hurricane Gustav boosted visitor numbers to weatherwatch.co.nz yesterday making it our 3rd busiest day since launching in June this year.
Despite being a New Zealand focused weather news site we thought the huge media attention created by Gustav would be of interest to many kiwis – and judging by your comments and web hits we were right!
However our coverage of Gustav will ease throughout today and our focus will again return to New Zealand weather – including the current spring storm moving into the South Island.
If you have comments on our coverage – positive or constructive – please post them!
Regards

I certainly enjoyed being able to get some great coverage of Gustav and what he was doing. Also appreciated were the links I was able to access to get an even greater insight, into what was happening. Some raw video footage of waves pushing over the levies really hit home to just how vulnerable those folks are.
Keep-up the good work, I think you nailed it just right.
Perhaps this one is doing the rounds, but I heard today there was an enormous black cloud developing over Wellington, and they were calling it Cyclone Winston :))
