It could be sodden day for much of the North Island.
Rain has been falling in the upper regions of the island during the overnight and early morning hours. The rain will continue to slide across the rest of the island as we go throughout the day.
So how has this Monday started for you? Are you seeing rain? Has it been heavy? How are the winds?

I have a friend in Russell with his own weather station and they’ve had 291mm of rain in 2 days and it’s still going up!
My less spectacular rain gauge is reading 160mm since yesterday. It has been torrential rain non stop up here since yesterday. It’s not as windy as I thought it might be, but it could pick up.

Yes, absolutely pouring in Whangarei, and has been since yesterday. My side and front garden are flooded already, and there’s no signs of the rain easing. It’s pretty blustery out there too.

Still bucketing down here have tipped 170ml from the guage which overflowed during the night.
Very strong SE gusts all night but now turning more southerly.
Feeling sorry for all the Northland Grape growers who have been waiting for warm temps to get their red grapes ripe. This could destroy the crop totally.
