Another strong northwesterly – The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Another northwesterly airflow sits over New Zealand on Tuesday, becoming brisk to strong over the South Island.

The North Island is looking largely sunny with high cloud, along with winds from the west or northwest mostly.
Cloud thickens up about Northland from morning however, as well as the odd shower falling here and there from afternoon.

For the South Island it’s rain in the west, as heavy falls are possible.
Looking drier in the east, but expect plenty of high cloud and gusty northwest winds in the east too.

Temperatures shaping up to be high for eastern parts of the country, due to that northwest airflow, so more springlike conditions on the way…
