Another frosty start

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Temperatures are well below the September average once again this morning, as frosts have covered more than 70% of the country.

Waiouru is – 6, Taupo -3, Auckland airport is currently 4 degrees and Whenuapai on zero. Hamilton hasn’t missed out either and is minus 2.

Further south it is a similar story with a number of eastern and southern centres dipping below the freezing mark on the mainland.

Similar to the last couple of days, sunny skies are set to prevail except for some high cloud in the south and temperatures are expected to rise into the teens for most areas.
