We have a breezy north to northwesterly airflow over most of the country on Thursday, while low pressure sits in the Tasman Sea.
Along with those, there is a large southerly airflow undercutting this warm air over the eastern South Island – from Southland up into Canterbury – with the coldest air over Southland and Otago naturally.
This means snow is likely down to low levels in places – we have a full snow forecast here, and Philip Duncan’s latest weather video, here – if you want to check out more details!
Heavy rain with torrential falls are looking likely for most of Fiordland and South Westland.
