I didn’t think it would be so difficult finding the rainfall measurement for Chch for the last 24hour period!!

This is because Niwa and MetService use your tax dollars to produce the data but refuse to openly share it with WeatherWatch. This is now with the Commerce Commission who has two official investigations now going into this.

Let’s hope the NZ democratically elected government allows weather data such as past rainfall to be freely available to the public.
