A settled start to the weekend

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Very few places around New Zealand have not had a settled day.  In fact, even up around Whangarei where it’s been pretty cloudy, there was at least a bit of sun to start the day.

A weak disturbance is scooting across the Tasman Sea this afternoon.  That is helping to build up some clouds about the rest of the northern North Island.  But don’t look for any rain today.  The South Island will see a few clouds about the deep south.

WeatherWatch.co.nz Facebook readers called today “gorgeous” and “brilliant”.

Temperatures ranged from 17 at Invercargill to 13 at Wellington.
