A series of fronts – The Big Picture on Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

On Friday we have a series of fronts moving over the North Island, which clear off to the east during the afternoon hours, while a fairly gusty northwesterly airflow still sits over much of New Zealand.

In the North Island, morning rain eases to showers for many before clearing around midday in the west, and during the afternoon further east.
The East Coast may only see a few brief showers, as a front passes over around midday or early afternoon.

For the South Island it’s mainly sunny in the east, with showers out west.
Winds will be gusty from the northwest, especially during the afternoon about Canterbury and Marlborough.
