A few showers are scattered around the country today as a southerly flow begins to fade away.
A few light showers were affecting south-western parts of Northland while heavier showers were moving into eastern Coromandel Peninsula and western Bay of Plenty.
Some isolated showers are also brushing Hawkes Bay, with Hastings receiving a shower in the past hour.
The radars indicate a few showers about central New Zealand too.
Rain is predicted to move into the South Island’s West Coast on Friday or Saturday with some healthy rainfall expected right up the coastline during Friday and Saturday.
There’s a slim possibility of some light showers affecting Taranaki and Manawatu on Saturday.
