A few heavy falls in places – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre forecast for Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The main weather risk on Thursday is a front sweeping over Northland – and perhaps northern parts of Auckland – from morning right through until evening.

This could bring a few heavy falls, with these more likely to occur about eastern Northland.
Also Northland (especially in the east) could see a few thunderstorms from afternoon – before easing in the evening.

Main Centres

Auckland

As mentioned above, it’s looking mostly cloudy, with areas of rain in northern parts of the city from morning, and elsewhere in the afternoon. Northerly winds change southwest in the evening, and you’re looking at a top temperature of about 18C.

Wellington

Morning rain eases to showers by midday, then showers clear overnight – while orthwest winds here also change southerly, lowering temperatures down to about 15C.

Christchurch

Patchy showers to start turn to rain during the afternoon, along with southerly winds.
