A cool Cup Day

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Christchurch experienced quite the weather 180 today.

Reports have come in that while Christchurch experienced a balmy morning, once the southerly rolled in things dramatically changed with temperatures going from 19 to 8 degrees in under two hours.

Currently Christchurch is sitting on 10 degrees.

While Cantabrians may be rugging up today, tomorrow  they’ll be enjoying warmer weather once again with a nor’wester expected to bring temperatures in the mid twenties.

Thanks to Greg Booth for uploading the fantastic photo.

Driving through south canterbury to the rangitata this morning was amazing, clear skies to the west, high cloud above and what looked like a 10,000ft high wall of darkness approaching from the southwest wish I had the camera I have never seen anything like it. Once it hit we realised its bark was louder than its bite, the winds were not as strong and damaging as I saw on the news this evening looks like south canterbury was better off.
