A calmer start – Your Main Centre outlook on Monday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Last week kicked off with some fairly eventful weather – this week it’s more of a sedate start, as a large ridge of high pressure sits over most of New Zealand.

A southwest airflow still blows through, meaning some windy conditions and a few persistent showers clinging on through the start of the week.

Main Centres

Auckland

Sunny for the most part after any early showers clear, while southwest breezes and a few clouds hang around, keeping temperatures in the mid teens.

Wellington

Sunny after a cloudy start, along with northwest winds and a high in the early teens.

Christchurch

A repeat performance in Christchurch – sunny, calm and reasonably warm – with light winds and a high in the early to mid teens.
