A large high spreading in from the Tasman Sea has ‘locked in’ the cold Antarctic air that spread up across the weekend.
The coldest time of the day is shortly after sunrise…these temperatures were recorded over the last 30 minutes so some may dip even lower over the next 10 to 20 minutes. Main centres 5 degrees and under at 7:30am…

Would be good to see some temperatures from the Shore, as we had 5.9C this morning in Browns Bay, which is cold, but still warmer than those 2C from Waitakere and the 4C from Auckland Airport.
