An earthquake measuring 5.3 has rattled the eastern North Island this afternoon.
GeoNet says the quake was 80kms south of Hastings, or 10kms south east of Porangahau and was at a depth of 20kms.
It was felt across Hawkes Bay.
GeoNet says it’s possible there’s minor damage near the epicentre.
No reports of damage have yet been reported.
