Hi there, it would be great if you could please remove IKAIWA28.
It’s been showing ’60 deg C’ for weeks – if not months – and has been reported by multiple people. Many thanks.

Given it’s moving inland over Aussie and there’s very high pressure over the Tasman and NZ, I doubt it.

Hi, we live in Taumarunui. Can you tell me where observation ITAUMA2 is located in town? It is very often that the temperatures at our own place are different (almost always higher pm, lower am) by 3-4C compared to what is observed. Just being curious why this can be. Thank you.

Hi Maria, places like Taumarunui (and many towns in NZ) often have a few to several degree temperature spread at certain times of the day and year. However, if you think this station is broken/faulty and has been for some time we can remove it from display.
Let us know
Kind regards

Thank you for your answer, i was only asking because I was curious where it was being monitored, thinking that maybe we have less sun, or more wind, things like that. I was not stating it wasn’t working correctly. Sorry for not making myself clear enough.

Hey Josh, yes Auckland (especially the western half) is going into drought now. Very little rain expected next two weeks, just a few showers.
It’s all about NZ’s mountains and ranges – if NZ was flat Auckland’s weather (and everyone elses!) would be more consistent and more of a mix of wind, showers, cloud and dry spells – but our hills break up rain and make some places wet and others dry…when the wind reverses itself you then get the other side wet and the other side dry.
Cheers
Phil D
