hey phil. good to have some rain again for drought zones. the first major rain maker and the media has to go and call it a atmospheric river. I hope just steady rain for Auckland nothing major.

Hey Josh, sadly mainstream media and Niwa are often hyping weather news and being more dramatic. Hereโs hoping the MetService merger with Niwa forces normality back to the Governmentโs weather media releases and intereactions with the MSM. If everything is always the most dramatic sounding then it leaves no words when a major event occurs, something WeatherWatch and MetService both aleady understand.

any chance of a good doce of heavy rain coming up soon for nelson ? nelson south eastren ranges behind the city are quite dry any chance nelson might get rain in next 14 days?

i think a light-moderate soaking rain will do good after a hard dry spell/drought. here in Auckland we need that sort of rain. not heavy atmospheric river rain like nelson 2022 flood rain or Auckland anniversary flood rain but a nice gentle persistent rain.
