As of 2024 we will no longer be publishing questions related to weather forecasts if they are answered via our hyper-local hourly & 10 day forecasts, weather maps and regular daily and monthly weather & climate videos.
We’re a small NZ business with limited resources to respond to general weather questions. Our social media pages may be helpful to you, especially if you want to often talk (or groan!) about your local weather. You can find more resources from us here if that’s your thing.

Thanks for your support!
Don’t forget to check out our RuralWeather.co.nz website (great for event planning or attending + camping!) and also, our brand new Weather Alerting App!

Hello WW Team
I noticed that the UV index for Bayswater(IAUCKL127) has been 11 for two weeks straight. I didn’t notice any other abnomalies

Hi Vict,
Thanks for your comment. UV isn’t connected to your local weather station. UV is part of the hourly forecast data we provide. The UV numbers rise to “extreme” in summer which is 10+. It can last several weeks or even a few months like this in NZ, especially with clear skies.
Cheers
– WW

Your weather info. is so much more accurate then that other website. They continue to state temps in Fahrenheit and do not realise that NZ moved to Celsius many decadess ago! They are also sadly locked into Opera website advertising!!!

You seem to always be forecasting rain for us in the last three or four days of the nine day forecast and it evaporates as the time gets closer. This is very regular now

It’s the same for all of them. I guess it’s because NIWA collects the information and the info everyone else gets is wrong. Weatherwatch gives the percentage chance of it happening, and that’s the key. None of the others does. That’s why I find Weatherwatch to be the most accurate – and by far the best in providing background information.

Any idea if Gisborne will get a summer this year? My SAD is working over time. If not – where should I escape to for the rest of January 🙂
Thank you !
