Purple: Northeast winds blow around the northeastern quarter of the North Island – gusting strongly at times in exposed areas of the coast in particular
Light Blue: Frosty and cold to start in interior parts of both islands
A front approaches the western side of the country, though it won’t make landfall until Thursday
Dark Blue: Heavy rain and showers on the west coasts of both islands at times – as well as Nelson, Marlborough and parts of Northland
A front moves across NZ in a west to east fashion during the day, resulting in spells of heavy rain around parts of the country before easing late in the day
