Purple – strong southerly winds blow through Cook Strait in the morning
Other than that, and some early showers in the South Island, it’s a far cry from the squally and stormy conditions we saw on Monday.
Blue: Heavy rain for the West Coast of the South Island during the morning, and western parts of the North Island.
Purple: Strong north to northwesterly winds possible from Canterbury through to the Cook Strait area.
Cloud thickens in the east of both islands, with the chance of a shower here and there through the day.
Blue: Heavy showers and possible heavy rain on the West Coast of the South Island
Light Blue: Showers and possible heavy rain in Auckland, Northland and Waikato overnight
