winds on the coast – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There isn’t too much to get worried about on Thursday, though winds will gust along the coast in parts of the South Island late on in the day.

East to northeasterly winds will get gusty along the Canterbury and Otago coastline in the afternoon and into evening.
Northeasterlies get strong about the Fiordland coastline from afternoon also, but there aren’t too many people along that part of the country!

Main Centres

Auckland

It cools off a little in Auckland, compared to the rest of this week, staying mostly cloudy with the odd shower from late morning, along with breezy east to Nor’East winds and a high of around 17C.

Wellington

A typical Wellington spring day really, sunny areas and increasing cloud, along with northerly winds from afternoon and a high in the mid teens.

Christchurch

And in the garden city, sunny areas and some high cloud dominate, while gusty northeast winds develop in the afternoon near the coast in the afternoon – a high of around 16C.
