A southwesterly airflow lies over the country today, nothing to vigorous going on but most regions will see areas of cloud for some time or perhaps for much of the day. More details below.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas and some cloud, chance of the odd shower about Northland and Auckland otherwise dry. West to southwesterly winds ease later on.
High: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas and some cloud with breezy west to southwesterly winds, gradually easing later in the day.
High: 15

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny weather with westerly winds, tending south to southwesterly during the afternoon with some cloud possible.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington

A sunny morning with northwesterly winds, a few clouds from afternoon as winds tend southerly
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Mainly sunny weather, westerly winds ease away. In the afternoon winds tend southeasterly for Marlborough.
High: 15

Canterbury

Winds change southerly in the morning bringing cloudy areas, southerlies die out evening.
High: 11

West Coast

A few patchy morning showers clear then in the afternoon the odd sunny area breaks through. West to southwesterly winds ease during the day.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago

Cloudy areas and some sun at times for Southland, mostly sunny elsewhere. Westerly winds ease tending lighter northwest by evening.
Highs: 9-10
