Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy although Northland and Auckland may not totally cloud up till evening, northwesterly winds. The odd shower for the Waikato and mainly dry elsewhere. The odd late shower possible Auckland southwards then most can expect overnight rain.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy with the odd shower, rain moves in late afternoon or evening. Breezy northwesterly winds gusty about coastal areas.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with northwesterly winds building, becoming strong by midday especially about the Wairarapa where winds gust to gale at times. High cloud pushes northwards during the day, rain pushes into the Wairarapa in the evening then further north overnight.
Highs: 18-20

Wellington

Cloudy with the odd shower then afternoon rain, rain eases back to the odd shower around midnight. Strong northwesterly winds with gales at times.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Cloudy with strong northwesterly winds, areas of rain spreading from the west at times. Rain clearing in the afternoon with sun then breaking through, northwesterlies ease a little once afternoon rain clears.
Highs: 16-18

Canterbury

A few early spots of rain then mostly sunny with northwesterly winds. An overnight southwest change brings further showers.
High: 17

West Coast

Showers, heavy at times with thunderstorms and possible hail. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

Morning showers clear coastal Otago then sunny areas develop in the afternoon. Cloudy areas elsewhere with occasional showers, a few snow flurries lower to about 500m by evening then showers clear around midnight. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 9-13
