A ridge lies over the country today bringing mainly settled weather however upper cooling of the atmosphere will lead to isolated showers about the upper North Island this afternoon / evening. A few of these showers may become heavy with thunderstorms then clearing later.

Northland
Periods of cloud with a few showers about, light southeasterlies early on tend easterly by midday. Showers clear late afternoon with cloud breaking away.

Auckland

Periods of cloud with light northeasterlies, isolated showers develop in
the afternoon (possibly heavy) then clear later.
High: 18

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny spells with light afternoon northeasterlies, isolated showers late
afternoon / evening especially inland.
High: 18

Central North Island & Waikato

Sunny spells with light winds, late afternoon / evening isolated showers
develop possibly heavy with thunderstorms then clearing later (mainly Lake Taupo
northwards).
Highs: 18-19

Eastern North Island

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, gentle southerly
breezes.
High: 17

Taranaki

Mostly sunny with southeasterlies dying away in the morning.

Western North Island

Sunny with light winds.

Becoming sunny in the morning, southerly winds ease.

northeast in the afternoon. Chance of a late afternoon / evening isolated shower in inland areas.
