South to southwesterly winds lie over the North Island today, mostly sunny for many regions although the east is still plauged by cloudy conditions and some drizzle or rain. Fairly good weather across the South Island in a northwesterly airflow, cloud increases in the west with some late rain about Fiordland.

Mainly sunny with some high cloud. Southerly winds, easing in the
evening.

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with southerly winds, fresh about Gisborne. Patchy drizzle
for Hawkes Bay with rain about Gisborne then easing during the afternoon.
Sunny with southeasterly winds tending southwest later in the
afternoon.

Western North Island
Sunny with east to southeast winds easing later in the day.
Sunny after any early cloud clears, light winds.
Sunny with light winds tending northeasterly in the afternoon.
Sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon.
Sunny with breezy northeasterlies, a little gusty at times in the afternoon
near the coast. Winds inland about the foothills will be a lighter northerly or
northwest.
Sunny areas and some gradually increasing cloud, drizzle moves into
Fiordland early evening then turns to rain by midnight. Northerly winds,
freshening about South Westland from afternoon.

Mostly sunny with breezy northeasterly winds, late high cloud.
Mainly sunny with some high cloud increasing from afternoon, overnight
expect a few spits of rain for west of the Southern Lakes area. Northerly winds
freshen.

winds.
