Morning rain in the east from Canterbury northwards eases to showers during the day, showers mostly clearing the east of the South Island by afternoon then the east of the North Island later on. Western parts of the country are largely dry. Meanwhile a front moves into Southland later in the day bringing a few showers.

Sunny spells with breezy southwesterly winds, the odd shower possible mainly afternoon in the west.

Sunny spells with breezy southwesterlies, any early showers mainly in the
west clearing.
High: 14

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with breezy southwesterlies, easing evening.
High: 14

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny spells with southwesterly winds, easing from evening. About southern
parts of the Central North Island (South of Lake Taupo) expect some morning rain
then clearing afternoon with a few sunny spells breaking through.
Highs: 9-13

Eastern North Island

Rain eases to showers this afternoon then clearing evening. Breezy
southwesterlies ease overnight.
High: 12

Taranaki

Mostly sunny with south to southwesterly winds, easing overnight.
High: 13

Western North Island

Periods of rain easing in the afternoon then clearing evening,
southwesterly winds die out later in the day with cloud breaking up a little
overnight.
Highs: 10-11

Wellington

Rain, easing afternoon and clearing evening. Strong southerlies ease later
in the evening then die out.
Highs: 9-10

Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 13

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with light southwesterlies, dying out by evening.
High: 12

Canterbury

Showers, mainly coastal about Rakaia northwards clearing by midday, sunny
areas then increase with southwesterlies dying out. Sunny spells increase from
morning elsewhere.

West Coast

Sunny with light south to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12

Coastal Otago

Becoming mostly sunny this morning with southwesterlies, later in the
evneing or overnight a few showers move through.
Highs: 10-11

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with light southwesterlies, a few late evening showers.
Highs: 5-7

Southland

Sunny spells and westerly winds, a mid afternoon southwest change brings
showers which ease overnight.
High: 10
