Any early showers or cloud clears about the upper South Island and North Island today then mostly sunny weather can be expected. A front makes its way north over the lower South Island however bringing spotty rain out east, more persistent rain in the west.

Northland
Mostly sunny with light southwesterlies.
High: 20

Auckland

Mostly sunny with southwesterly breezes, dying out in the evening
High: 20

Bay Of Plenty

Sunny and mainly calm, winds may tend light northerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-20

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny with light winds, some late cloud in the west of the Central North Island.
Highs: 17-20

Eastern North Island

Any early morning cloud / showers clear then mostly sunny, light winds tend
northeasterly this afternoon. Some late high cloud moves into the Wairarapa.
Highs: 19-20

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light northwesterlies, evening cloud thickens.
Highs: 18

Wellington

Early morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, northerlies picking up by
midday becoming brisk in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-16

Nelson

Mostly sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon. A few
areas of high cloud from midday then thickening in the evening.
Highs: 17-18

Marlborough

Any early cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, high cloud gradually
increases from afternoon with northwesterlies freshening.
Highs: 19-20

Canterbury

Any early cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, high cloud gradually
increases during the day however with northwesterlies especially inland where
they may be a little gusty at times. Winds ease in the evening with a few spots
of rain possible,
Highs: 17-18

West Coast

Northerly winds and increasing cloud, rain moves into Fiordland during the
morning then spreads up to reach North Westland in the evening. Rain clears
overnight for most.
Highs: 14-16

Coastal Otago

High cloud thickens in the morning with a few spots of rain moving in,
northerly winds. Areas of rain mostly clearing in the afternoon as winds change
southwest, cloudy areas remaining.
Highs: 15-16

Central Otago

Mostly cloudy with northwesterly winds, a few brief showers at times move
through in the afternoon then clear evening.
High: 14-15

Southland

A cloudy morning with a few showers, northerly winds. Winds change
southwest around midday with showers clearing, a few sunny spells may then break
through.
Highs: 15-16
