A humid east to northeasterly airflow lies over the country today. The South Island and much of the North Island is fairly dry with morning cloud for some breaking to sunny areas. Mainly north of the Coromandel one could expect areas of drizzle or patchy rain during the day.

Northland
Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, easing later in the evening. Rain a little more persistent in the east from afternoon then easing later in the day also. Fresh east to southeast winds. Quite muggy.
Highs: 23-24

Auckland

Fairly cloudy with drizzle patches or the odd brief shower about the
Coromandel and perhaps northern parts of Auckland at times. Breezy humid
easterlies.
Highs: 23-26

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny with some high cloud in the west, skies more cloudier about the
Waikato, Bay Of Plenty and northeastern parts of the Central North Island in a
humid east to northeast airflow. Some morning drizzle about the Bay Of Plenty
clears.
Highs: 24-27

Eastern North Island

Sunny spells and some cloud with east to northeast breezes.
Highs: 24-26

Western North Island

Mostly sunny after any early cloud clears. Light winds tend southeast in
the afternoon, winds may tend more westerly in the afternoon about northern
Taranaki.
Highs: 26-29

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, southerly breezes.
High: 21

Nelson

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds at first then afternoon
northerlies. Chance of an isolated shower late afternoon for inland areas any of
which clear in the evening.
Highs: 24-25

Marlborough

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, chance of a late afternoon and
evening isolated shower especially inland. East to southeast breezes.
Highs: 23-25

Canterbury

Cloudy areas with east to northeast breezes, a few sunny areas break
through in the afternoon especially inland. Low risk of an isolated shower about
inland areas late afternoon and evening.
Highs: 21-24

West Coast

Morning patchy rain eases then clears early afternoon, sunny spells then
break through. Light winds.
Highs: 20-22

Coastal Otago

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, easterly breezes freshen up in the
afternoon then ease later in the evening.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Central Otago

Any early cloud clears to sunny weather, light winds and afternoon sea
breezes about coastal areas.
Highs: 21-26
