A ridge lies over the country tonight bringing a brief period of calm. There will still be plenty of cloud about for some and the odd shower, mainly affecting western parts of the North Island.

Periods of cloud, the odd shower mostly clearing this evening with westerly winds easing.

Periods of cloud, chance of a shower or two with westerlies easing this evening. Cloud increases towards dawn tomorrow.

Bay Of Plenty

Clear spells with westerlies easing this evening.

Central North Island & Waikato

Periods of cloud with the odd shower, perhaps clearing for some areas this
evening. Westerlies ease.

Eastern North Island

Showers, some heavy clearing away this evening, cloud breaks away later on
with southwesterlies easing.

Taranaki

Clear spells with westerlies easing this evening, some high cloud develops
overnight as winds tend northerly.

Western North Island

Cloudy periods with the odd shower, westerlies ease this evening.

Periods of cloud with southerlies easing this evening, winds tend northerly
overnight.

Clear spells with light winds, cloud increases overnight.

Marlborough

Periods of cloud with easterlies easing this evening, any isolated showers
about the Sounds clearing this evening. Light winds overnight.

Mainly clear skies near the coast, cloud breaks away from inland areas
overnight with any showers near the foothills clearing. Light winds tend
northeast.

West Coast

Mainly clear skies this evening, cloud increases overnight with the chance
of a light shower by dawn. Northeasterlies develop.

Coastal Otago

Clear spells with northeasterlies freshening overnight, some high cloud
move in overnight too.

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies, some high cloud develops overnight. Light winds.
