Doh!
Have put clear spells, at the time I was more thinking in reference to the evening though where the sun is still about for a bit. But fair enough….

Just use ‘fine’ (if it’s not banned)? Who cares about a bit of cloud at night. 😉

Actually we don’t use the word ‘fine’ on this website very often! 🙂 Mainly because it covers too many grounds – sunny, cloudy, sunny and cloudy. May be splitting hairs but the reason people love our more detailed forecasts is because we try our best to add an extra layer of, well, detail – pilots, photographers, weather enthusiasts and some of our clients tell us they like that we don’t just canvas a day with “fine” and try to go to the next step to explain cloud cover/thickness where possible. You’d be surprised how many complaints we get from the public about the use of the word “fine” from other forecasters – as many perceive it to mean completely sunny and calm, so they feel disappointed when the evening on the deck is now kinda cloudy and cool.
Cheers!
Phil
