A ridge of high pressure moves over the South Island tonight, skies clear or becoming clear in the far south and on the West Coast. Cloudy areas remain in the east with showers clearing this evening. For the North Island skies are fairly cloudy in the north and will become cloudy in the east, a low pressure system north of Northland looms moving southwards tomorrow and Friday.
Northland
Cloudy with east to northeast breezes, showers about northern and eastern parts of Northland.

Fairly cloudy skies with light winds, east to southeast winds develop overnight.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
High cloud, thick about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty. Westerlies swing
round to the southeast for most this evening. Winds from the north about the Bay
Of Plenty however, easing this evening then tending southeast overnight.

Eastern North Island
Cloudy areas with the risk of a shower about Wairarapa pushing north
overnight with southerly breezes. Clear spells before this change moves
through.

Western North Island
Areas of cloud with southeasterlies developing this evening, mainly clear
skies about Taranaki.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-14
Wellington
Cloudy spells with a few showers possible, cool southerlies.
Tonight’s Low: 13
Nelson
Clear spells and some cloud, brisk northeasterlies ease later this evening
with isolated showers clearing inland. Light winds overnight.

Marlborough
Cloudy with easterlies easing later this evening, isolated showers mainly
inland clearing.

Canterbury
Remaining showers or drizzle clearing this evening, cloudy areas remaining
overnight for most but may begin to break up about South Canterbury. South to
southwesterly winds ease.

West Coast
Clear skies, light winds.

Southland & Otago
Clear or skies becoming clear this evening, southerly breezes ease with
light winds overnight.
