An anticyclone traps cloud once again for most of the night over the North Island, conditions are fairly settled though. About the South Island most eastern regions are clear or become clear, cloudy skies persist in the west.

Fairly cloudy with light winds tending southwest.

Central North Island, Waikato
& Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy with westerlies easing this evening, light winds
overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-14

Eastern North Island

High cloud, sea breezes ease this evening. Light winds overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Western North
Island

Fairly cloudy with westerly breezes easing later this
evening, light winds overnight tend northwest or northerly.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Wellington

Some cloud with northerly breezes.
Tonight’s Low: 15

Nelson

Areas of cloud with northerlies easing later this evening, light winds
overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Marlborough

Clear with some high cloud, northwesterlies ease later this evening. Light
winds overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies overnight, some cloud about inland hills and ranges
mainly South Canterbury. Easterlies near the coast ease later this evening.
Light winds overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

West Coast

Mostly cloudy with north to northeasterly breezes. Patchy rain or drizzle
possible at times north of about Haast, easing overnight.

Coastal Otago

Areas of cloud with isolated showers clearing this evening, sea breezes
ease with light winds overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Southland & Central
Otago

Fairly cloudy with west to southwest breezes easing overnight, any isolated
showers clear this evening. Overnight cloud breaks up however high cloud then
moves in from the west.
Tonight’s Lows: 9-10
