Weather Video: Subtropical low coming

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A storm is approaching the North Island and upper South island.

Winds will pick up during Tuesday with rain developing too.

Overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday this storm peaks – gales and heavy rain are possible.

By Thursday it’s easing but a strong south west change behind it could make for a windy end to the week for Auckland.

The easterlies (which will be lighter) will only be an entree to the southwest flow at the top of the NI as it moves over the bay of plenty to the chathams, though the SW flow will be much lighter south of raglan than the easterlies.

Nasty sure is the right term for this one Phil.

Interesting that there is no real sign of it in the sky yet. Usually you would expect to see high jetstream cloud by now about 24 hours from the event. It must be deepening very rapidly

It is very early to be experiencing eather direct from the tropics wouldn’t you say?

Cheers
Dave
