Weather Video: Severe Cyclone Oma less likely to hit NZ, severe weather still possible

Cyclone Oma made it back to “severe†Category 3 status overnight and this morning as it moves further away from New Caledonia and out into the open waters of the Coral Sea.
Building high pressure south over Tasmania is now making it less likely that Oma will directly hit NZ – but it may help influence the humid nor’easters starting to kick in around northern NZ.
A southerly arrives this weekend and for some in the South Island it will feel wintry – rain comes in this weekend too but as you’ll see it’s not so straight forward just yet…

If northern NI doesnt get tail ends of cyclones or other tropical lows in summer it more less gets nothing

so you better hope this other thing gives rain to the places that need it since you wish the cyclone not to come and I mean rain to the bop and other north island areas not the south island can your southern storm do that!!!!!!!!!!

There is some rain around, but BOP may not get the rain they need to bounce back from the dry start to the year. If we don’t get rain this weekend we could be facing an extended dry spell as we head into March so fingers crossed.
