With so much high pressure around NZ right now it would be easy to think the weather is quiet, instead we have a lot over the next few days including some heavy North Island downpours which may produce isolated thunderstorms over Wednesday and Thursday.
We also have a cold front moving up the South Island, arriving on Thursday and Friday then trying to move up the rest of the country this weekend with the help of a small low attaching itself to the front. It all looks fairly weak, but Sunday may see more showers and cloud spread in to the North Island.
Daytime temperatures are also above average, by quite a lot, in many inland areas – while the overnight lows aren’t so mild.
