We have a very large low coming in from the Tasman Sea today – bringing a period of unsettled weather spanning most of this week. If New Zealand had not had several large earthquakes today this low would be our main headline and we’d be focusing mostly on this low and where the gales and rain will be.
Now with powercuts still affecting both islands adding wind gusts of 140km/h into the mix may cause a few more problems.
As the week goes on the severity eases somewhat, but Thursday and Friday look cold in many places – while the weekend looks more settled, at least to begin with.
