Weather Video: Burst of wind & rain for the north, high pressure growing though

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Low pressure is stuck over northern New Zealand and over the next 24 hours high pressure will expand over the South Island.

Between the high and the low expecting strong, maybe even gale force, easterly quarter winds in the north along with some locally heavy rain.

Gloomy weather in Canterbury is about to ease as high pressure builds and drier, sunnier, weather returns for the end of the week but a bit more low cloud and drizzle/light rain to deal with first. High pressure expands over the country later this week.
