High pressure is mostly dominating the country but the humid air left over from the sub-tropical northerly earlier this week hasn’t shifted away with moisture inland leading to foggy areas overnight and afternoon cloud build ups during the day.
Some of these inland afternoon downpours – in both islands – will also develop into thunderstorms. For the most part they will remain inland but some could drift towards the coastlines or main centres.
The weekend ahead is looking mostly dry and hot – with a number of places in the late 20s and early to mid 30s with humidity levels already increasing again towards Sunday and Monday.
