We have a cold front moving up New Zealand this long weekend and a weak area of low pressure. In a nut shell it means most regions have at least 1 to 2 days of wet or showery weather but also 2 to 3 dry days.
The rain band starts in Fiordland later on Friday and moves up the West Coast on Saturday.
By Easter Sunday the rain band is moving across a large portion of NZ (especially central areas) and by night will move through northern NZ too.
Monday sees rain and showers clearing slowly to the east with sunnier weather returning from the west and south.
*Recorded Thursday.
