VIDEO: Windy, cold, start to week but ends windy & warmer

It’s not too often a country gets airflows from two entirely different continents in just a matter of days – but that’s what is happening in NZ as this week kicks off with an Antarctic blast but in a couple of days time warmer westerlies from out of Australia move in, and then subtropical winds by Thursday and Friday for parts of the country.

This almost spring weather pattern is set to bring all types of weather this week, from the week kicking off with snow, hail, squalls, gales and cold weather, to frosty and calm weather, to then West Coast rain and strong and mild nor-westers late week.

We have your forecast for the second half of today Monday – and the outlook for the rest of the working week and start of the weekend.
