A burst of windy and wet weather is about to affect both northern NZ and the south eastern corner of Australia as spring continues to do it’s thing.
Friday will be windiest for the North Island with a burst of rain.
Gales are likely around Auckland region whilst heaviest rain will be around the BOI, East Cape and Gisborne – and maybe Coromandel Peninsula.
This weekend inland afternoon downpours and thunderstorms are forecast for the North Island and upper South Island.
In Australia it’s still unsettled with a bigger low pressure zone coming through this weekend and a wintry sou’wester arriving around TAS and VIC on Sunday and Monday with snow possible on the mountains and ranges… but more high pressure is coming next week to calm things back down again.
