Ex-Tropical Cyclone Hale is moving into the North Island tonight and across Wednesday. Not everyone has severe weather, but in this special video we break down the likely path(s) of this low pressure system as it moves in – and we cover where the worst winds and rain will most likely be – and how long this will linger for.
As always, you’ll find the most accurate forecast for your part of NZ at WeatherWatch.co.nz and RuralWeather.co.nz – the IBM supercomputer we use factors in all the various computer models to give you one likely forecast. (especially helpful if you find all the various computer models and maps confusing).
It’s worth noting some wind speeds and rainfall totals may be even higher than we’ve forecast in this video (the ranges enhance rainfall in these set ups) – so please keep up to date with all MetService warnings and watches – you’ll find them in your local WeatherWatch.co.nz & RuralWeather forecast, or look at the current regional warnings map for NZ here.
*Programming Note: Today’s video is a one off – our regular daily videos for 2023 will return from next Wednesday (Jan 18th).
