VIDEO: Some heavy rain for NZ & Aus – but more high pressure coming

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The spring weather pattern around New Zealand and Australia normally fades out over December, but at this time of year we can have strong moments of summer-like weather followed by a burst of more spring-like, colder & wetter & windier weather.

The week ahead is just that with a cooler southerly flow returning to NZ this week – only to be replaced by milder northerlies again late week or weekend.

A low from Australia could bring a SIGNIFICANT deluge to Vic/NSW coastal border with up to 200mm coming in the 3 days ahead. That same low will drift to NZ this weekend but in a much weaker state, bringing rain mostly to the West Coast with up to 100mm there. Not so much elsewhere – many of you will be relieved to hear.
