Recorded Tuesday Dec 31 — In our final video of 2024 we take a look at the upcoming two week weather as a cooler, slightly windier set-up locks itself in for Week 1.
Week 2 may be even more settled as air pressure continues to rise. But showers, thunderstorms and occasionally windy weather is all in the mix – along with a few more southerly changes. This is certainly no a muggy start to summer with airflows mostly coming in from south of the country.
We also take a look at 11 day upcoming rainfall around NZ, Australia, the South Pacific and the Southern Ocean, and an animation showing the likely forecast next week in the NZ area.
Of course longer range forecasts can change, so keep up to date with our latest forecasts (they update hourly) and the rain and wind maps we have. This video helps give you the general idea of what is happening over the next week or two.
Thank you for all the amazing support this year – you energise us to make this content and we hope it’s been helpful to you. Have a great summer and we’ll catch you back in two weeks time, on Tuesday January 14th.

Thanks for your honest attempts at forecasting the almost impossible!! At least we get a reasonable prediction of the probabilities and not the ‘it will be this’ nonsensical certainty of some weather forecasts. Cheers
