VIDEO: NZ’s weather forecast through to Boxing Day

Low pressure is looming next week for Christmas Day – but that doesn’t mean rain for all, with large dry areas expected. The precise timing of when the rain arrives is still being locked in – so keep an eye on your local forecast for more updates over the weekend.

By Boxing Day that low pressure zone is likely to cross NZ and fall apart – bringing a wet and windy (and cooler) south to south-west flow by Thursday and Friday next week – but that may well be ahead of a large, dry, area of high pressure.

We give you the Big Picture forecast including what’s going on south of NZ near Antarctica and also an update on the tropics directly north of NZ.

Have a great weekend – catch you back again on Monday for our next video update.
