Plenty to talk about today as we cover the world’s deepest storm right now near Antarctica, the next deluge for Australia and New Zealand’s Labour Weekend is coming up.
Before Labour Weekend arrives NZ has a couple of cold fronts on the way, with the main one on Thursday night/Friday.
High pressure rolls in for the long weekend bringing mostly dry weather – but cold starts with some frosts possible on Saturday morning. Australia’s deluge continues with another 100mm+ coming for parts of QLD and NSW and more heavy rain and thunderstorms for SA and VIC. It’s not the end either with another low pressure zone coming next week, maybe two more, as Aussie’s very wet spring continues.
The tropics are also waking up now that La Nina is peaking.
Finally, the storm near Antarctica at the moment is the deepest on earth, with air pressure last night around 900hPa just south of South America.
