VIDEO – NZ to Monday: 2 highs and 2 cold fronts

Colder air remains stuck over large parts of NZ over the next week with two cold fronts and two anticyclones bringing typical winter weather.

Showers will affect both islands with some West Coast rain in the mix.

The forecast brings variety – and some regions will see some warmer and sunnier moments as north to north-west winds form for a time, but the second cold front by Sunday/Monday brings another temperature drop to much of NZ.

We also take a look at soil moisture levels, with one part of each main island still drier than average for this time of year.
