It may seem hard to believe but parts of NZ are now drying out – so incoming wet weather may not be a bad thing, except for the timing. A cold front reaches the lower South Island on Friday and then tracks up the country with a weak new low in the Tasman Sea this weekend.
It means many southern and western areas will get some wet weather – switching around to northern and north-eastern places late weekend.
Generally speaking those in the east have lowest rainfall totals. For now Cyclone Mal poses no threat to NZ but may fall apart near by early next week. We have your full NZ forecast through to Monday of next week.
*Programming note: WeatherWatchTV on YouTube has a special video update on Tropical Cyclone Mal with extensive tracking details for FIJI.
