Tuesday is another 30+ day for some parts of the North Island but the lower South Island may struggle to reach the teens in some places today (or even double digits higher up!) as a wintry cold front moves north.
The front will drop temperatures by 12 degrees in the South Island and several degrees for the north. It will be like a giant air conditioning unit has been switched on for NZ – but as the week wears on the heat will slide back, especially during the day.
Also, don’t forget the cold air does NOT impact UV levels which remain high to extreme – even if you personally feel cold. If the skies are clear or the sun is penetrating the cloud enough to leave a shadow then UV levels will be high.
This Friday and Weekend another, less aggressive, cold front moves up the country.
