We are changing gears towards more of a summer pattern but another cooler southerly is coming to NZ on Tuesday with a weak low also falling apart this coming Sunday and next Monday.
NZ is mostly on the edge of air pressure systems this week – two lows and two highs will be surrounding us and bringing changes in wind direction, temperatures and cloud cover.
Our NEW Monday updates now cover 7 days out for NZ, including a 7 Day Rainfall Map. Today we compare two 7 day rainfall maps to show you the likely lay of the rain over the coming week.
Programming Notes:
– Tuesday: 7 Day Pacific Islands Update + regular daily NZ Video
– Wednesday: Our final ClimateWatch seasonal outlook for 2023 (a close look at El Nino and Summer) + regular daily video
– Thursday: 7 Day Australia only update + regular daily NZ Video
– Friday: Our apologies but we have No Video this coming Friday (Dec 1).

We’ve only just passed the middle of spring weather. Usually NZ’s weather settles properly from January to March (and even then never a guarantee due to our size and location on earth). Nov and Dec are well known for being changeable weatherwise… and can be both summer-like and early-spring-like in nature. That big difference can be from a really tiny shift in wind direction from WNW to Sou’Westers.
Cheers
