Some rain and showers are moving across NZ today and this weekend, but it will be followed by high pressure next week.

The set up sees a new low from the Tasman Sea moving into the North Island and driving some wet weather (not much) into the eastern South Island.

There will also likely be a few heavy afternoon downpours (possibly with thunder) in both main islands during the afternoons around Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
